SIDESHOW SYMPHONIES
What do you expect when you hear that a supergroup has been formed featuring members of MAYHEM, DIMMU BORGIR, BORKNAGAR, and ULVER? A brutal, Black Metal, blast-beat fest? That’s not the case with ARCTURUS.
This band can only be described as Progressive/Avante Garde/Post-Black Metal. Most of the album is cleanly sung with BM screaming few and far between. It is an incredible journey, though, to listen to Sideshow Symphonies. “Hibernation Sickness Complete” is a stunningly well-done track and so is “Evacuation Code Deciphered”.
As I said, the only way to describe this album is an epic journey. It is astonishing that a Black Metal release underwent this much production but it is amazing. The whole disc is stellar. You should be required to buy it because of “Hibernation Sickness Complete” alone. Seasons of Mist hit the nail on the head by releasing
Sideshow Symphonies.
