Although it is a new sexual fetish that most Americans don't know about, it has a very strong cult following. The term "bukkake"(Boo-kah-Kee) is from the country of Japan. This term is actually not a sexual term at all. It was just brought out as a sexual term just recently (around the late 80s). Many people describe Bukkake as an ancient form of humiliation in Japan. This is NOT the case; It was actually just introduced about in Japanese porn not too long ago. The literal translation of "bukkake" is "splash or heavy squirt", and is not necessarily used in a sexual context.
