Acts of Insanity
SPEED\KILL/HATE proudly identify themselves as East Coast Thrash, even though they owe more of a major debt to West Coast thrash legends EXODUS and TESTAMENT than to anyone else. The problem is that they are above average musicians that write redundant songs; the verses, solos, vocal delivery, and lyrics start to sound very same-y a few songs in. It doesn't help that the production is flat, which nearly renders the drums useless. The lyrics use vague metal standards to set a dark, sinister landscape with references to force-fed rules and false religions and “fucked- up world's society?. I've heard of a fucked-up world or a fucked-up society, but a fucked-up world's society? That phrase just doesn't make any sense. I wouldn't call the album terrible, but change up the rhythm every once in awhile, or let the music go off for a bit without vocals, and then maybe stronger songs could grow.
