Persun
Imagine every radio rock band from the 90s and put them in a blender and you' ll wind up with Persun. And I mean that in the worst way possible. This is already enough of a problem with bands like NICKELBACK plunging the depths of mediocrity and coming up with more mediocrity. At one point they sound like FUEL, on "What You Feel" the singer sounds like Ed Kowalczyk from Live, and on "All Right" he sounds like Eddie Vedder (Oh, we haven't heard THAT impression from any other band before). The music itself is very basic and owes somewhat of a debt to pop punk and a hint of nu-metal in "Pullin' Out" with its whispered vocals in the verses. This song also has a piano exit, which as we all know, should definitely get them on the radio.
Most of the songs have solos; they're not terrible, but they're nothing special either. The lyrics will make you want to puke such as this gem from " Murphy", which mind you, is repeated many times: "I know you feel me softly, I know you do". Certain singers may be able to pull that cornball line off convincingly, but here it just has a douche chill-inducing effect. It can be argued as to whether there are hooks; they have them, but it's nothing you haven' t heard already. If you consider Hinder the second coming of Zeppelin, then get this.
