Most fans of metal know Relapse Records. With the signing of THE COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINERS and the release of their debut disc,
Olidous Operettas, Relapse have proven to their fans that they are at the forefront of the metal scene.
This album is absolutely disgusting! And that is a good thing. The County Medical Examiners are genuine forensic pathologists that came together to form a gore-grind band over their love of the band CARCASS, who the album is dedicated to. Lyrics are standard issue medical terminology that most would need a surgeon to explain. But, they are not able to be understood – so just keep head banging!
Eight tracks of some of the most brutal gore-grind that you could ever find are on this album. My favorites were “Blunt Force Flight,” “Expeditious Evisceratory Mishap,” and “Maturating Decompositional Gas” but you can basically turn on any of these songs to get what you are looking for – extreme carnage.
The album art is incredibly done, as well. The decaying carcasses that seem to be attacking another carcass look amazing. Dangling eyeballs and old needles also raise the artwork up a notch.

Olidous Operettas proves that point. Man, I can’t wait to see these guys do a live show!
