OPEN FIRE
The guys of ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY are metal veterans at this point and their upcoming album showcases that these guys haven’t lost what made them famous one bit.
Open Fire, the band’s new disc, is set to hit shelves on March 6th via Relapse and it is classic, southern/groove metal at its finest.
Very nice guitar and heavy drums are complimented nicely by soaring yet growling vocals. “Void of Harmony,” which is the second track on the album is definitely my favorite track. All eleven songs on this album are very good, though.
One thing that I’ve noticed about this album that I was extremely happy with was that, despite the band’s hard rock tendencies on previous efforts, they have become a full on metal band with
Open Fire. Again, Kyle Thomas’ vocals are incredible and one of the highest points for this record.
Between the vocals, stellar drumming, and Ryan Lake’s guitar work, this album is a must have in 2007. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Open Fire pushed Alabama Thunderpussy to the highest point in their career thus far. Be sure to pick up a copy when it drops on March 6th.
