SUFFOCATION
Hell yeah! SUFFOCATION released a new disc and I love death metal – especially Suffocation. Relapse landed the deal of a lifetime when they signed Suffocation after they reunited. After all, it’s not every day that you get the chance to land the most influential NYDM band of all time.
Their self-titled release is absolutely relentless and provides exactly what I would expect from a band of this caliber. Tracks like “Bind Torture Kill,” “Creed of the Infidel,” and “Entrails of You” makes this album my personal favorite out of all Suffocation records to date.
The best part about Suffocation is that they don’t limit themselves to one type of death metal. While harsh enough to be considered brutal death, the band plays so intricately that the music could almost pass as technical death. Even amongst the rest of this, it also can sound melodic at times. Then again, that’s how Suffocation led the NYDM movement.
There is nothing that anyone can say to discredit Suffocation. They are one of the most influential metal bands of all time and they delivered another masterpiece with this latest album. I’m already excited about the possibility of the band recording another album in the near future!
