A Great Artist
I had always heard about A LIFE ONCE LOST being a really good band. Oddly enough, I had never listened to them before. I got a copy of their disc,
A Great Artist, just the other day and I had all of those stories confirmed. A Life Once Lost is an incredible band and Ferret Music is lucky to have them on their roster because I’m sure that they had to fight hard to land these incredible talents.
A Great Artist starts out with a very chugging guitar riff – almost like MESHUGGAH – on the track “Surreal Atrocities” and it shows, right away, that this album is going to be a good one. The vocals are really good too; in fact I would call these vocals perfect for the type of riffs going on underneath.
I do have a gripe with the album, however. That gripe would be that it’s only nine tracks long. I would rather have a few more tracks because you can never have too much of a good thing, but I’m just happy that I finally got to here such an incredible band.
I love the entire album. I’m not going to name any specific tracks to check out just because I don’t want to overlook any of the songs on A Great Artist. All nine tracks are incredible and
A Great Artist is a fantastic CD. If you’ve never heard of A Life Once Lost, as I said was the case with me, I would definitely recommend this disc as your starting point.
Wikipedia lists A Life Once Lost as a “Heavy Metalcore” but I don’t hear that in this music at all. I would say that
A Great Artist is straight-up grind album and I loved every second of it. You should pick it up as soon as possible.
