Mirrors
MISERY SIGNALS is a really cool math-metal band from Wisconsin that Ferret Music was able to snatch up.
Mirrors is their latest release and I was lucky enough to get a copy for review. The band is incredible and the very odd signature times make the album worth your while.
Eleven tracks strong,
Mirrors makes for a great listening experience. The vocals are dead-on and the melodies are very bright. My favorite part of listening to Misery Signals was hearing the perfectly timed breakdowns that you would expect from math-metal.
“Face Yourself” kicks the record off and it packs a punch. Other songs that I really enjoyed were “Migrate,” “Reverence Lost,” and “Sword of Eyes”. While these were the best, I think that the entire album – minus one or two tracks – was very strong. One that I feel very compelled to mention is “An Offering to the Insatiable Sons of God (Butcher)” because it is one hell of a spectacular track. Everything falls into place and it’s very heavy.
For those who haven’t heard of math-metal before, Misery Signals is a great band and
Mirrors is the perfect math-metal album. I would definitely recommend picking up a copy of the album as soon as you head to the store again.
