A Symphony of Suffering
Another day, another CD to review. This isn’t just any disc, however, this is INFERNAEON – a blackened death metal band from Florida – who inked a deal with Prosthetic Records and released
A Symphony of Suffering. While the album is a very short six tracks, it is an incredible disc that needs to be sought out and purchased by everyone reading this review. The only problem is that I might not be able to write a long review since the album is so short.
A Symphony of Suffering kicks off with “Shades of Obscurity” – a one minute, forty-five second track that features a soft piano entrance into the incredible death metal featured on the rest of the disc. Up next is “Embodiment of Sin” and it’s just as good as I expected it to be. Infernaeon sounds like a better version of DEICIDE, and I like Deicide so it’s not a pot-shot at Glen Benton’s crew – Infernaeon is just that damn good.
I was worried about not being able to come up with much to say about this album since it was so short, but I have realized that I could talk all day about the talent it takes to play this stuff.
While kick drums are heavily used on this disc, you should listen for the incredible drumming that is taking place at the hands/sticks of Nick Agusto. There is also incredible shredding taking place on the guitar. So much unbelievable music is taking place that it’s hard to pick one instrument to focus in on. Despite me raving about the musicianship, you also need to listen to the growls and grunts coming from frontman Brian Werner. The best track, vocally, would be “Sleepless God”.
Infernaeon is going to be very happy with the reaction of metal heads everywhere when
A Symphony of Suffering is released. If you like death metal, mainly in the vein of ZYKLON, I would definitely tell you to pick up this record. Infernaeon is INCREDIBLE but what else should you expect, they are signed to Prosthetic.
