Temptation Come My Way
I just received a copy of the latest release from THE SHOWDOWN from Mono vs. Stereo, entitled
Temptation Come My Way. It sounds like a metalcore album until the vocals kick in and it becomes straight-up hard rock with occasional growling vocals.
I really like the music that the band is playing on this record, but I can’t find the groove for the vocals. My suggestion would be that the vocalist keeps up more growling and less clear singing. With that said, it’s definitely not bad and I liked having “Fanatics and Whores” on in the background while I did some computer work.
I am a fan of all the music that is played on this disc, but I can’t get completely past the vocals. I thought the vocals sounded pretty good on “Fanatics and Whores” along with “Breath of the Swamp,” but I felt they brought down what could have been really good tracks like “Six Feet Under”. I guess it all really depends on what type of music you are into. If you are a fan of Hard Rock, in the vein of Velvet Revolver or P.O.D., I would definitely say pick this up. If you are a metal head, like myself, this doesn’t quite hit the mark.
For
Temptation Come My Way, I would recommend picking up a copy and deciding for yourself.
