The other day a package arrived containing the new MIKE MARTIN disc, 2 of 5. Having never heard of Mike Martin, I popped it in expecting to be immediately turned-off by it. After I heard the first track, however, I was really into it.
Mike Martin is simply a guitarist – a very good guitarist. 2 of 5 shows off his talent. It is nine tracks of blistering riffs, harmonic solos, and no vocals. I’ve tried to play the guitar and I wasn’t too succesful at it but Mike Martin makes amazing guitar riffs sound as easy as picking up one and plugging it into an amp. My favorite tracks on this album would be impossible to talk about, just for the simple fact that the entire album is money.
There are no vocals to trash, no shitty themes – just good ol’ classic guitar playing. If you’ve been playing a guitar for quite a while, if you just picked one up, or if you are just a guy that likes to drink and play Guitar Hero on PS2, you need to check out the awesome work of Mike Martin on 2 of 5. You will be amazed!
