Gruesome Splendour
HANDFUL OF HATE is a black metal band based in Italy and signed to The End Records. They just released their 7th album, entitled Gruesome Splendour, and it couldn’t be any more brutal. Handful of Hate provides a treat that I haven’t gotten in a long time – straight-up black metal.
The band does value album production, which makes me happy and isn’t typical of most black metal. Not only is production well done, Gruesome Splendour is just an all-around good album. Songs like “Theory of Perfection,” “Tied, Whipped…Educated,” “Spawn of Decadence,” and “Ejaculation Dementiae” make this record irresistible to die hard black metal fans.
Handful of Hate is a good band. Gruesome Splendour is an incredible release, not to mention the gruesome album art, and I’m very happy to have had the opportunity to review it. It is punishing from beginning to end and features drum heavy enough to give the most seasoned metal head a migraine.
If you are a fan of black metal, you’ve probably already heard of Handful of Hate. Make sure that you pick up a copy of Gruesome Splendour – and make sure you tell your friends how much you love the album. All BM fans deserve to hear Handful of Hate!
