Unia
SONATA ARCTICA has long been a huge band in the power metal scene. They gave us “Victoria’s Secret” – and that’s one of my favorite power metal songs of all time. Now they are back with a new album, entitled
Unia, and it’s a very interesting listen.
Unia definitely has high points and low points, but the thing about it is that it overcomes it’s dull moments so much that you forget that they were even there. Songs like “In Black and White” and “Harvest” make the album worth the full price and counteract songs that are harder to listen to. I will say that the single, “For the Sake of Revenge”, is a complete bust. It’s slow, which is ok, but it doesn’t go anywhere and ends up being boring and a wast of time. The shear flop magnitude of that song is what brought this review down to 4 stars.
Like I said, the album is a great listen and a lot of fun if you’re planning an epic summer road trip. Who doesn’t like the sound of victory? In my head, that sound belongs to Sonata Arctica.
