Short Sharp Shock
If you’re looking for calm, relaxing and soothing music that’ll allow you to comfortably doze off to La-La-Land... find something else. If you’re looking for something brutal, intense, heavy, fast, and something that’ll make you want to beat up a gang of evil grandmas and midgets, then Short Sharp Shock by SSS is the solution. For when you listen to this album, you will find nothing but hard hitting thrash-punk-metal that’ll make you want to find that special somebody and mosh right the fuck into them.
Want to know what SSS sounds like? Think Hatebreed and Slayer with more of a punk kick to it. The guitar riffs are crazy-fast on every single track and the lead singer has an awesome scream-talk delivery that’s perfect for the songs. Short Sharp Shock is 17 songs long and a little over 30 minutes in total. The only drawback that I can think of is that there are so many songs it’s hard to pick out exact favorites, but the plus side is that this is an album that you could blast at full volume and not concern yourself with track-hunting since there aren’t really any weak or bad songs.
Short Sharp Shock by SSS is ideal for those who want to listen to something fast, heavy and fucking intense. Especially if you really dig a lot of fast guitar playing, then this is something you should definitely check out. This is my first impression of SSS, and I can easily say it’s a positive one.
