I'm not sure of the reasons, but this disc was supposed to be released on October 9th, 2001 along with Gilby's entire back catalog on Spitfire Records, his new home. If I had to guess, I'd say the delay had everything to do with the Sept. 11th attacks, and the general state of the country at the time (ie; not a great time to release a new disc).
Swag features much more refined songwriting from the Ex-GUNS 'N' ROSES axeman, who claims he only wrote 12 songs to be recorded for this eleven-song release...not the norm considering most songwriters head into the studio with 30 or 40, hoping that 10 or 12 will be good enough to release on a disc.
Guest stars on this disc are Eric Singer, sometimes-drummer for KISS on drums, along with Brent Fitz and Brian Tichy. Guest guitarist on "Alien" is none other than Tracii Guns.
