This is hands down a killer CD from start to finish. It has something for
everyone. Jorne Lande on lead vocals provides his stunning pipes and
presence to the material which mines the progressive/hard rock sound
throughout. The band, which features Rady Coven on bass, Tore Ostby on
guitar, John Macalluso and Mats Olausson on keyboards perform like a well
oil machine and the results are very impressive. The opening 'Heal The
Waters' is a six minute tour-de-force of in your face guitar, drums and
vocals all propelled by killer hooks and even better musicianship. This kind
of music is sorely missing in the US markets, but thankfully to Steve Vai's
Favored Nations Label, this album will see the light of day in the States.
The disc continues with the brooding 'Torn' and ventures into heavier
territories with the slamming 'Noose' (probably the best track on the disc0
before ending with the epic 'Missing You'. The guitar playing on this disc
is fierce and very melodic, with plenty of chops and gusto to spare. Ostby
has a fluid tone and the tight mix and mastering of this CD makes it sound
huge on a good car or home system. I highly suggest this release to anyone
who just flat out loves rock or heavier music.
