I have been a fan of this band for nearly two decades now and they simply still serve up heavy metal the way it should be. Never selling out or falling short. Overkill has been committed to wrecking necks for life!
It is also great to finally see a live record coming from the gutter of NJ. I was one that did attend this production that will also be seen on DVD very soon. I was very sick at first I wasn’t in the front for once. The seats didn’t help matters at all. Any loops on the audience? The first few tracks I saw from the very top of the venue taking in the blinding light show. Still have to hand it to the band for keeping the showmanship. The stage effects and all are still in place.
“Necroshine”, “Thunderhead” comes crushing. The awesome crowd thrashing favorite “Evil Never Dies” also pounds out in fury here. The sound in that place did deafen me and it sounds excellent here. What a bonus! The other great part is that we get a live record with the shredding Dave Linsk and the newer kid in town Derek Tailer. This is documenting another chapter in Overkills history book.
An old favorite from the early days is here in the killer “Deny The Cross”. “I Hate” kicks the reality. Then the heart pounder “Shred” is played at fast pace. Newer killer kill tracks make it here like “Bleed Me,” “It Lives,” “Battle,” “Long Time Again”. Much older kill songs contained here are “The Years Of Decay,” “In Union We Stand” and the classic “Over kill” closes the set.
Come feel the fire from the east coast traditionalist Over Kill. The still doin’ it for the kill, kill, kill. Nice packaging to boot!
(Those O and A listeners have definitely heard this band in bumpers, mixes and the like on the show. Listen for the shred)
