So these guys basically used Linkin Park's logo but wrote Trik Turner
instead. We're off to a flying start.
The first song, "Existence", steals the exact melody from the song "Your
All I Need To Get By" by Marvin Gaye and later sampled / revamped by Method
Man. Great. Unfortunately, the third time isn't a charm.
How many dudes are in this band? Geez. There's a crowd on the cover and
apparently they're all in the band. I guess it takes a big crew to run this
giant suck machine.
Trik Turner has the Linkin Park thing going on, but its softer, ala
Staind maybe. It definitely has the feigned introspective, self-pity vibe.
Some of the melodies remind of 311 almost. One of the dudes sings just like
the Everlast acoustic stuff. These guys are an absolute potppurri of suck. A
jukebox of the awful, if you will. They can do Incubus, they can do P.O.D.,
whatever you want, they'll suck it up for ya.
Overall this record just isn't there, there isn't a chorus or melody I
remember and it sounds very restrained. Too many cooks in the kitchen spoil
the stew.
