SUNDAYS WERE MADE FOR THIS

I first heard GREEN TO THINK on the INITIAL STAGES compilation disc, and upon hearing the track "Better", I knew that they were destined for greatness...or semi-greatness...or partial-greatness. Well, I liked the song, and I will give them as much of a push as I can considering the music business is a friggin' cesspool of mass-marketed, corporate clones at the moment.

Hailing from Bloomfield, NJ, this foursome is a collection of guys that had played for numerous years in other bands before coming together on this project. The result is a very well-written bunch of songs, performed by a group of guys who love what they do.

Now, GREEN TO THINK is not a band we'd normally promote on this site, because they are pretty tame by our standards, but the songs are very hooky. Their latest EP, Sundays Were Made For This, features five tracks which showcase their talents as a unit. The title track, "Sundays Were Made For this" is a mellow ballad-ish song with some great harmonies in the chorus. Track 4, "Better", has the best chance of being a successful single for these guys. Right from the first measure, you're hit with a very catchy melody. The hook is huge, and very hummable. The last words of the chorus "Right where you belong" are going to be stuck in your head for a while after you hear it...which exactly what you should be trying to do if you're a songwriter.

If I had to compare it to anything, I'd compare it to the SPIN DOCTORS, because of it's (and I don't mean this in a derrogatory sense) "Shiny, Happy People" appeal. It's exactly that.

They're also from Jersey, so by default...they're cool. Yeah, I'll admit it. I'm biased.
