Interesting concept, a guy who realizes that he may never get radio airplay decides to make an album about
the radio, and does so that he not only manages to entertain you with his very authentic radio personas, but
practically tears the roof off the joint with his playing. Most instrumental CD's lately bore me to tears (and this
is something new for me, considering I am a die-hard guitar freak and instrumental music lover) and as of late
have not had much to inspire me. But this disc not only inspires, it entertains, and that is something very hard
to do in this genre. The songs are catchy and tight, the production is flawless and Koch has command on all
styles he plays, from the country flavored 'Mulligatawny Delta' to the fusion inspired 'Acid-Dharta', this disc
covers more sonic landscape than most artists can achieve in a lifetime. What Koch does well is make songs
that are memorable and interesting, but never self-indulgent or foolish (which is something alot of these so called
'guitar monsters' do). There are some pretty good moments of 'on-air' jokes, but the music simply pulls this disc
together. Will this disc appeal to everyone? Absolutely not, but those who want to hear something good and
honest, and downright fun, this disc could really bring a smile on your face, along with the occassional
'how did he do that?'.
