KILL OR BE KILLED

Even though Justin reviewed this disc back in December, we just had to give it another push, because Hammer jerked off all over it when he got his copy. Once he got it cleaned up and listened to it, he wrote a sparkling review...that went something like this...

In the early days when I first picked up on BIOHAZARD it was actually their management tracked me down. Those were the days that I was only a scribe for a year. I am one lucky enough to actually own the bands first demo Infection Approaching.

The first full record came along and set this mother up. In 1992 I even had a nice chat with the band. Urban Discipline was definitely one great album for the time and more and more orange shirts were evident all over the place. Also seeing these guys numerous times from L'Amour to Club Bene, they just gave the crowd a slamming good time! The hook up with Rush entertainment definitely didn't hurt things. Or did it???

It seemed every year the band were jumping from company to company. Then State Of The World Address came along and reminded the fans that the core wasn't dead, but it jammed more. Mata Leao just had too many rap moments for my taste and what I thought Biohazard shouldn't have been doing. Hey! Gotta give them credit for trying to bring legions together. Those were the Warner Brothers years.

Then they found themselves on Mercury with New World Disorder, another album I bought and was happier with for sure. After the years the rap-core… Caught my ear just a bit. "New World Order" with Sticky Fingaz is some of the most rap like and heavy track that sorta eerily rings out in my mind just for what they were rapping and what happened in Sept 01. The live album saw them back on Roadrunner and what a killer live core record that was. Now most of you are wondering where's the new review?

I really feel that the band were gonna come back and tear it up in light of what happened with the terrorist crap in the City on 9-11 and our country and lets not forget the world. Again I found myself picking up the import a few weeks ago and was oh so happy when this sucka kicked in.

A brief distressed intro starts it and then "World On Fire" kicks it so hard I wasn't ready for this! It is super hard and aggressive hard-core that I'd imagine Bio fans will be bowing to. I also noted that the sound had such a dreary sonic side. "Never Forgive, Never Forget" is gonna be the charge (fight song) on the fight on Terrorism. Grrr, it just brings back that anger of that fateful day known as 9-11. The music has really taken that old pissed off direction and is so what Biohazard needed to unleash.

"Killed Or Be Killed" is more on a thrashy side of things and just gets your blood pressure rising. "Beaten Senseless" crushes your skull and delivers the hurt. More pissed off lyrics come on "Make My Stand", that many people will relate to. Oh so heavy drenched sonics will be heard on "Open Your Eyes". The duel vocals of Evan and Billy are in full force as with the great gang vocals. "Penalty", "Hallowed Ground" and "Dead To Me" are the other tracks that you will find on this heavy duty NY hard-core record. This is turning out to be my favorite Biohazard record to date. This is the real shit! Not your multi platinum crap!
