In retrospect, I probably didn't pick the BEST place to start listening to
A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred, the latest offering from SUPERJOINT RITUAL, which is one of Phil Anelmo of PANTERA's other bands...Where was I, you ask?

tattoo shop... getting tattooed.
The LAST thing you want to do when someone is raking a needle up and down your arm, punching ink into your flesh for hours on end is get pissed off... and that's what
A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred is designed to do; make you pissed.
It's like Anselmo, along with guitarists Kevin Bond, Jimmy Bower, bassist Hank Williams III, and drummer Joe Fazzio specifically tuned down, and blended every 80's thrash metal sound you could think of, ranging from MORBID ANGEL to D.R.I. to EXODUS to AGNOSTIC FRONT, and conjured up thirteen tracks, the sole purpose of which was to get angry young white (or any color) kids riled up.
Again, not the BEST music to listen to while being tattooed, considering that you really want to try and CALM DOWN while someone's stabbing you with an ink-soaked needle.
It's definitely not mass-appeal, but Anselmo knows how to cater to the angry youth of the world. I think
My tattoo guy might be keeping this one. He seemed to dig it more than I did.
