I have to tell you all that my support goes all the way back to the LSD
demo in 1985. They formed in 1984 then put that out. It is funny that I
listened to old ANTHRAX yesterday and then this came in. The two bands
have links. For those that need to know. That bassist Dan was in
Anthrax, the drummer Glen was in TT QUICK and a band called DREAMER
that sported Zakk Wylde’s young guitar talent. The vocalist Chris
Connelly always had this semi annoying voice that I grew to know. That
gave them a distinctive sound over the years in the old underground.
They also got the original guitar player Anthony back for this record
but now he’s gone again and I think he’s really done this time?
Nuke were a great band that I got to see grow in those years of L’Amour
and more. I still can’t get over Carnivore turning into Type O- and
reaching the heights they have. This record really consists of the
original line-up and not when Dave came in on guitar. So you could say
it goes a bit retro. They never had a proper live record back then.
They did have the Handle With Care live video.
The more hard-core stuff I came to love like “Hang The Pope”, “Butt
Fuck”, “Game Over”, “F#” and “Brainwashed” are just a few of the
classics here. I am one that is glad to see them back and ready to
thrash! I hope they can retain some of the older sound when they enter
the studio. Oh when the metal world was very small but the virus was
spreading. They did surely bring the old magic to the table I can
assure you it felt like an old concert without all the sweat and
people, nice sonics!
