Kids, Hammer's been following KREATOR for many years. How many? Enough
to mention it in the first sentence of this review, that's how many. I
gave this band high marks years ago, and I still do in 2003. With, Live Kreation,
Kreator has finally released a live disc featuring all the great
Kreator songs ever written. Sure I wish "Take Their Lives" was here but
"Awakening Of The Gods" suits perfect.
Of course you get the newer Kreator songs that they been pounding out.
"Violent Revolution" surely comes off better live than on record. Even
“Reconquering The Throne" is just great thrashing only done the German
Kreator way. Many of you kids all into what you think is heavy, didn't
hear all these bands that laid the groundwork for what is heavy today.
To top that they still live even sixteen years after inception.
I am so happy that this record came along. It encapsulates this band
but really a thrash movement! I still think bands like AT THE GATES,
WITCHERY and CHILDREN OF BODOM would not exist if this band was left
out of the equation of thrash history. Then again Kreator may scare you
POISON, FIREHOUSE and WARRANT lovers.
This was compiled over the tour because it starts in Tokyo, right? Many
an older track creeps up like "Extreme Aggression, "Flag Of Hate",
"Betrayer", "Under The Guillotine", , "Riot Of Violence", "Terrible
Certainty" and more. There are twenty four Kreator tracks that run the
bands gamut of records.
KREATOR…DESTRUCTION… GRAVE DIGGER and LIVING DEATH. I have
seen of this band about three times and they did not let me down then,
and they sure as hell haven't let me down on this live CD. Everything
sounds perfect on this live effort. A preview of the bands
up-and-coming DVD Revisioned Glory can be found on the second disk.
Still very much into what this band has to offer. Only people that know
the real metal need apply.
Just as I was coming to sit down the DVD came in. It is a lot of what
you get here. They did a short little documentary about Kreator and
compiled the video history. It is great I don’t have to go back to my
crusty Doomsday News video’s. They break up the concerts into some
different parts. A bit on the interview stuff in German tongue. It is
great to see the different reactions to this band as it travels
through. You also get the making of Live Kreation, a discography, Some
extra tour footage, South America and South Korea are the other parts
of all this. A very cool DVD for this major German thrash band is what
I’m holding here. This is all from the Violent Revolution tour.
