THE SAXON CHRONICLES
This advance DVD that caught me off guard. It is packaged in a double jewel case, unlike a usual DVD release, more like a CD. Is this just for the promo? I can safely say that I have been into SAXON since the early 80's and they been kicking it for over 20 years. There was once this whole metal story of the NWOBHM that came along and Saxon were a big part of that. Need we school you in that?
Over the years the bands records still came out over the years and in the last few years they have had three very heavy metal records. They end up going to the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany and they recorded that show for this DVD. It seems that they had a sweet full set and it all sounds nice and meaty. They play it a damned perfect.
You get fifteen tracks on this first DVD. Those like "Princess Of The Night", "Motorcycle Man", "Crusader", "Heavy Metal Thunder", "Denim & Leather" and so much more even the newer "Metalhead". Disc two offer up 36 minutes of backstage, home videos plus three live tracks from Esbjerg Festival in 1995. They also compile some old videos that some may have aged over the years as you'll see. Some TV stuff, photos, and much more will entertain you real metalheads. I just wonder why they didn't included "Broken Hero's" anywhere on here. I really did like this DVD time capsule. It will be out in America on September 23.
