MAMMOTHS OF MOCK - LIVE AT THE HARD ROCK CAFE
I don't know why, but every time I end up at the
Hard Rock Cafe I always have a crazy night. So yeah, this night was no different.
From what I was hearing, this was to not only be
Mammoths Of Mock, but also an O&A pre-comeback party. Really wasn't much of
a comeback party, as not much was said about a comeback and the O man
dissed us all
to chill with Imus. Why would you ditch an event to go hang with
Imus at a book signing?
Beats the hell outta me.
Some guests included .....drumroll.......
Stalker Patti! (Whose hair has grown in quite nicely). And of course, the
Retarded Leverne and Shirley who for some odd reason were drinking
LOW CARB BEER. Thats like having a Diet Coke with your Big Mac. Anyone remember
Jackie The Knife Girl? She was there as well, in all her hotness.
First band to hit the stage was
2112 the RUSH tribute band. These guys rocked pretty good, I must say. However they looked very wooden and tense.
As far as sounding exactly like Rush, they hit the nail right on the head.
Before
2U hits the stage, Ant entertains us all by goofing on Patty, Lady Di
and Marion. Ant is sure to let us know that he
Siriusly wants to get back to radio but there aren't many
Clear Channels of
communication open. They don't know where they'll end up, so the possibilities are from here to
Infinity. I know there was an
XM line in there somewhere, I just can't remember exactly how Ant had worded it.
I was pretty surprized the place wasn't as crowded as I though it would be. I figured there would have been more of a turnout for
an O&A event so close to the contract expiration.
2U revs up and the set begins. Brother Joe really is
an excellent guitarist, but I just can't understand why he's playing a Hamer. I'm sure Ant can hook him up for christmas or something with a nice Gibson.
The last band up was
ALMOST QUEEN, but I can't remember much of them simply because I was quite toasted by this point.
I'm pretty sure alot of us came down soley for an O&A exclusive, but we never got it. No biggie though because I'm sure all who came down had a great time. I know I did.
